Special details: If the timer advances in the timed dry cycle but not the automatic moisture sensing cycle, unplug the dryer and check continuity through the resistor using a multimeter. Replace the resistor (part number 279872) if you measure infinite resistance. If the timer still doesn’t advance in the moisture sensing cycle after replacing the resistor, replace the timer using kit 696876 (timer isn’t sold separately).This timer and resistor kit (part number 696876) is for dryers.Timer and resistor kit 696876 includes the dryer timer that controls the electrical components and the duration of the dryer cycles and the resistor that regulates current flow through the timer motor.Unplug the dryer before installing this part.
